Community based tai chi programs vary considerably; they emphasize different elements of the Tai Chi practice and they utilize varying models of instructional delivery. It is very important to find the right match for persons seeking to join a movement- based activity program in the community. Laddie Sacharko is a master Tai Chi instructor who delivers exceptional programming to multiple age groups. Laddie has a keen ability to analyze movement that is on par with trained physical therapists. He conveys knowledge holistically through cognitive, visual and kinesthetic activities that enhance the learner’s awareness and execution of movements. Everyone leaves his training session having experienced a new appreciation for movement. Deb B. PT Phd

CT Physical Therapy Association Approved Provider: 8 CEH’s

Holding several different tai chi certifications, Laddie also holds a recent UCONN Masters degree in Education Psychology.

DR. Fuzhong Li, senior researcher for the Oregon Research Institute, awards certification for "Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance" training course to Laddie Sacharko. Dr Li is the researcher responsible for developing an evidence based tai chi falls prevention program (balance training), which is the tai chi program recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.

His 25 years in the military were spent as a training analyst; preparing, revising, and supervising training programs covering individual skill and Army unit mission capability. His 12 plus years of providing tai chi instruction to the community has focused on balance training for seniors in particular, giving him a strong perspective on older student needs and motivation. This back round has provided all the elements of training and experience that make him uniquely qualified to deliver this tai chi for therapy course

“my life has flowed more easily as a result of practice, my moods have been more upbeat, my health has been better during times when I have redoubled my efforts at practice, whether the redoubling was aimed at “perfecting” a piece, or simply, practicing more often. I have practiced and taught tai chi for physical fitness, balance, concentration, relaxation. I have experienced and witnessed “radical shifts in perception” (Webster’s definition of miracle), release of artistic blockages, unveiling of reality vs delusional fantasy, and significant personal transformation and growth. I’ve felt it passionately, and watched as others passed it by on their way to “something” else. For me, it is a journey which has allowed me to visit many people and places; some I liked, and some I did not. It is perpetually challenging, disappointing, daunting and rewarding and always leading to a new perspective. I am pleased to be able to offer this tai chi for therapy course, hopefully you get some while you learn!”-Laddie Sacharko

Laddie’s strong entrepreneurial motivation has been sustained by a genuine desire to be of service. He is an original co-founder of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day.
